The Summer Seersucker Social — About

About Us

Hanging out with the Girls
This vintage event of the summer will take place on Saturday, July 23rd with registration starting at 10:00 a.m. Followed by parasols, picnics and pedaling along scenic country lanes.

Our 10 mile bike ride will depart from the La Conner Channel Lodge at 11 a.m. and will return to the same about 2 p.m. Join other ladies and gentlemen and stroll around town while making your way to the ice cream social at the La Conner Civic Garden Club.

The Summer Seersucker comes on the heels of the successful Dandy Daffodil Tweed Ride. The purpose of these rides is to bring together those interested in vintage style and bicycling. It’s fun to dress up in nice clothes and pretend you live in a Fitzgerald novel, while pedaling your way into a gentler time.

If you can attend it’s best to leave the Lycra and spandex at home. Instead, opt for something a bit more stylish — like a vintage seersucker suit, leather lace-up shoes and a flat cap. While you’re at it, swap out your usual MP3 playlist for a 1920s jazz-inspired lineup.

If you can’t make the ride but still want to celebrate, the after party is not to be missed. It’s a great way to experience what it must have been like in the 20s and 30s. There are a lot of elements of that era that are worth bringing back.

Any proceeds collected from this revelry shall be donated to the La Conner Library Foundation. (
